Prof. Godfrey W. Netondo holds a PhD in Botany (Plant Physiology and Biochemistry) of Maseno University (2001),  MSc in Botany (1992) and BSc in Botany and Zoology (1988)  both of the University of Nairobi.  In 2002 he received a six months DAAD  post-doctoral research scholarship tenured at the Department of Plant Cell Physiology, University of Giessen, Germany where he worked in the laboratory of Prof. Aart van Bel. He is an experienced university manager having held various administrative positions and served with distinction. Prof.Netondo is a member of various professional bodies such as the Kenya DAAD Scholars Association (KDSA) and the Kenya National Academy of Sciences. 

Prof.Netondo  is an accomplished researcher who has won research fellowships that were geared towrads solving societal problems. Besides publishing papers, he has also mentored  several postgraduate students students who at both master and doctoral levels.
