Prof. David Mutisya Musyimi is an Associate Professor and researcher in the department of Botany at Maseno University, Kenya where hehas been since 2003. He holds a PhD degree in Botany from Maseno University specializing in Agroforestry, Plant physiology and Microbiology. He earned his BSc. And MSc. from Maseno University. From 2014 to date he has served as the department of Botany chair. Prof. He has widely published in peer reviewed international journals and is actively involved in supervision and mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate Students in the school. Much of his work has been on improving the understanding of the adaptations of plants and microorganisms to environmental stresses. He has also investigated on the phytochemical and antimicrobial activity of various plants on microorganisms. His current research interest is in landscape approaches for biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, climate change mitigation and adaptation. He works with communities to understand how these approaches increase the well-being of farming families. He has been passionate about the mitigation of climate change and emissions of greenhouse gases from agroecosystems.
