Participants at the Future of Sexual and Reproductive Health (FOR) Kenya Program Workshop

Working in partnership, researchers at Maseno University and the University of California San Francisco are addressing critical gaps in research and evidence-building by equipping a cohort of young women from both Maseno and the neighboring community with greater knowledge of the research process, competency to conduct qualitative research that is most relevant to their own interests, and transferable skills to improve their chances of gaining employment with other local research organizations. In addition to core training in qualitative research and methods, the program includes a mentorship component and aims to foster sustainable, collaborative relationships among members of the cohort.

FOR Kenya Qualitative Analysis & Dissemination Workshop

During this workshop, trainees will learn about core components of the qualitative analysis process and how to translate analysis into write-up for dissemination of findings. Trainees will immediately put their learnings into practice by working in small groups to begin analyzing data they have collected themselves. They will then produce a preliminary draft of an abstract to be submitted to an academic conference.
