Andrew Odhiambo Oduor is a science teacher by profession, having trained at both Kenya Science Teachers College as an SI teacher and Nairobi University as a BEd Science Teacher. He joined the department of Physics  at Kenyatta University as a graduate assistant to pursue a degree in Master of Science (in Physics). During which  he developed interest in Polymer Physics, and wrote a Master of Science thesis on Thermal Properties of EPDM rubber compound. He was promoted to a Tutorial Fellow upon completion of his Masters degree at Kenyatta University. Mr. Oduor later moved to Maseno University in 1992 as a lecturer in the department of Physics.  He participated in the early formulation of the department of physics, besides teaching the undergraduate programs, he also participated in writing practical manuals, developing programs and reviewing them. He later developed interest Condensed Matter Physics and wrote a PhD thesis on the Electronic Transport Properties in Evaporated Cadmium Selenide Thin Films. Mr. Oduor is at the moment the Head of Department of Physics and Materials Science at Maseno University.  He has experience in vulcanization of rubber and the associated compounds.  He well versed with the operations of the Edwards Auto 306 vacuum coating equipment, X-ray diffraction and scanning transmission electron microscopy.  To equip the department with research instruments he was a signatory to the MOU between Maseno University and Boston Institute of Research. The institute has provided space weather instruments: the Ionosonde and the GPS receiver.  He participated in their installations, and has been responsible for their state of operation since their inception.  He is at the moment developing an acoustic research laboratory in the department with the help of Laboratory of Mechanics and Acoustics (LMA) in Marseille, France.  It is his hope that the developing MOU will became a reality soon.
